MAN OF FEW WORDS IS BACK!

Elder Butterfield's words were few, but pictures were many......the saying goes that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I guess the "many" pictures make his "few words" like thousands of words!

NAKED PROTESTORS!

June 9, 2014

so tuesday we had a district meeting and then went out with a member and went by some less actives.

wednesday i was on exchange with elder vaquera and we went out with the same member and elder vaquera and i were knocking on doors and we ended up teaching a woman the restoration for 30 minutes on her doorstep.

thursday we exchanged back and it was supposed to be our weekly planning but we had to go get new bus passes so we were late getting back, then we had to go to a lunch appointment, then when we came back to the flat we had to wait for the repairman to finish so that we could get the zone leaders key back.

friday we went out and conquered a lot of Auf's in the middle of manchester and guess what!!! some protesters decided to ride around manchester on their bikes completely naked!!! how crazy is that! luckily we recieved an advanced warning from the zone leaders and we left the area before it happened.

saturday in the morning the district leaders in our zone had a meeting with the zone leaders so the 5 junior companions took their car and knocked an entire neighbourhood.

sunday, we went to the missionary fireside, and i saw elder leiva and elder gourratt who was also trained by elder leiva!! and jordan was there at the same time!!! haha then on the way back from the fireside we got stuck in traffic and we were 1 mile away from our flat for 1 hour!! 1 HOUR!!!!! we didnt get back until 11:00 pm.

so my week in a nutshell...

haha so earlier we were invited to come to a bible study at a church that was described as a green hut..... turns out he wasnt lying haha so after 2 weeks of trying to get there ( first week something came up, and the second week we couldnt find it because... WE WENT LEFT INSTEAD OF JUST LOOKING TO THE RIGHT WHERE IT WAS ABOUT 1 MINUTE WALK AWAY!!!)

we also went to transfers:) haha we got to go since elder chong was going home and had to go to the temple at 6:30 in the morning so his companion became our companion for a while so we got to go to transfers!!

also on friday i got to go on a mini exchange with a brand new missionary, Elder Konyana, (been in the mission for 2 days) and we were able to go and teach a lesson.

then on saturday elder rasmussen and i went to birkenhead so elder rasmussen could baptise someone that he taught before and upon arrival he realized that he forgot all of his baptismal clothes at the flat haha.

and last but not least i got to hang out with Jordan and Cara!!

Show me the bus pass

June 2, 2014

so on tuesday we had a district meeting and then i was on exchange with elder diederich and we were able to teach two people with some members and then we went to teach another investigator and someone we had been trying to get ahold of finally called us back and we set up an appointment with him for that night!! unfortunatly serving in manchester has its downside as well... if they are ysa aged then we have to turn them over to the ysa elders.
i cant remember wednesday. thursday we had weekly planning and we were tracting an area and we ran into this man who believes in almost everything we believe in except that he doesnt believe that there was an apostasy and a restoration, so we are super excited to meet with him and teach him.
friday we taught a man who had been referred to us but unfortunatly he is ysa aged as well. then later we went to go see a less-active but he wasnt in and on the way back a man tried to get on the bus but he wouldnt show the bus driver his pass, so the bus driver wouldnt let him on so he started saying that the bus driver was racist (i think he was jamaican)(the man not the bus driver) and started threatining the bus driver and no one on the bus said anything haha he had one person read the validity date but at the same time he was covering the picture (we are pretty sure the pass was stolen) and as soon as the man stepped off of the bus the bus driver shut the doors and drove away hahahha.
saturday we helped clean a members flat who is moving back to oklahoma, and we helped clean the chapel.
on sunday... Jordan came to visit!!!!

Another Great Week

May 26, 2014

GPS holder Elder Butterfield made from
an old football (In America, it's a soccer ball)
hahahahahahha leave it to dad to buy chickens!!! haha unfortunatly i forgot my journal so i dont remember much but,

on wednesday we played football with the young men (american football) ,

thursday we had a mission activity day and we had a relay race and i had to eat a plain bagel and i beat the person i was competing against!!

saturday after the sisters investigator got baptized we had an investigator call us saying that he wanted to meet with us today so we made some calls and got a member to go with us, pick up our investigator, and bring him to the chapel where we watched the restoration dvd and had a great lesson.

TALK ABOUT SEEING THE LORD'S HAND....

May 19, 2014

so on monday we got to take the zone leaders car to rossendale valley to get my pills but when we got there they were closed:( but never fear because the next day after district meeting we jumped on a bus (actually we walked onto the bus but it wouldve been funny to see two missionaries jumping on a bus haha) and luckily we were able to go and fill my prescription, bring home the precious cargo, and plan for the next day seeing as how it was basically already 9:00(side note: we may have street contacted for a while before 9 its just that i cant remember if we did anything else).

Then on wednesday I was on exchange with Elder Chong!! woohooo!! and at the same time we got our flat looked at so that we could get some needed repairs. then later in the evening we went with brother bob and went home teaching.
on thursday we had our weekly party... i mean planning hahahah and during that time i was able to make some calls and try to set up some appointments.
on friday we went to piccadilly and met a man (who was one of the people i called on thursday!!) and we were able to teach him and get to know him and he is interested in learning more!
on saturday, 4-Hour Finding!!, we went with two members to partington and tried to contact a former investigator who unfortunately wasnt in so we tracted the neighborhood and as we were leaving, lo and behold the former investigator pulled up!! talk about a miracle. then later we came to the YSA building and taught another man who also seems very interested in learning more. then we went with yet another member to salford and we went by a few people and one man let us in and we were able to teach him and he too wants to know more!!! talk about seeing the Lord's hand in helping us to find more people to teach!!
